ERC Makerspace Mission and Goals

The ERC Makerspace is a campus resource housed in the WKU Libraries Educational Resources Center within the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences

MISSION

The mission of the ERC Makerspace is to empower the WKU community through innovative educational programming, facilities and resources in a collaborative environment. This mission is in alignment with the university mission of developing students prepared for a global society, and the WKU libraries mission of supporting the quest for knowledge, understanding, creativity, and innovation.

GOALS

In collaboration with the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, the goals of the ERC Makerspace include:

• Providing resources and facilities for collaborative technical and artistic experimentation to support learning in the STEAM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).
• Coordinating facilities, resources, and partnerships for Makerspace programming
• Incubating research and creative activities in the STEAM areas in the WKU community.
• Pursuing internal and external funding to support ERC Makerspace endeavors
